About Shelby

I got curious about how good it could feel to be in my body.

And I discovered there was so much more to feel.

Because the more I learned to feel, the more there was to feel.

I came to this work curious about pleasure, sensation, sexuality and orgasm.

I wanted to know what else was possible in my body.

What I didn’t expect was where that curiosity would take me.

Pleasure. Desire. Joy. Turn-on. Connection.

And also fear. Anger. Grief. Shame.

So much shame.

Some of it I hadn’t even known I was carrying.

Trust your intuition

And I remember thinking, which part of me is my intuition?

For years, I had been trying to understand myself. People would tell me: Trust your intuition.

There was so much happening inside me. Thoughts. Emotion. Fear. Desire. Old beliefs. Other people’s expectations.

Sometimes I didn’t even know why I was feeling what I was feeling, let alone whether it was intuition, conditioning or something else entirely.

This work gave me another way in.

Instead of always trying to figure myself out, I began learning how to experience what was actually happening in my body.

To notice sensation. To stay with emotion. To let pleasure matter.

To get curious instead of immediately deciding that something was good, bad, right or wrong.

And to meet the parts of myself I’d judged with a little more space.

Curiosity made room for more.

One of the biggest surprises was discovering how much shame could live quietly underneath everything else.

Shame about my body. My sexuality. Things I’d said or done. How other people experienced me. Whether I was too much. Whether I was good.

It didn’t always look like shame.

Sometimes it looked like overthinking. Holding back. Questioning myself. Trying to get things right.

Learning to notice those places without immediately turning them into another reason to judge myself changed something.

Not all at once. Not perfectly. And certainly not permanently.

But as some of that noise began to loosen, I discovered how much else my body was capable of experiencing.

Pleasure. Sensation. Desire. Connection. Play. Aliveness.

Sometimes it feels unbelievably good to be here.

And I want women to know that’s possible.

That’s why I do this work.

My training

I’m a certified Sex, Love & Relationship Coach.

I came to this work through Layla Martin’s VITA™ Coaching Certification Program.

VITA™ is a body-based approach to coaching, which means we don’t only talk about what’s happening in your life.

We get curious about what’s happening in you.

What do you notice?

What feels good?

What doesn’t?

What do you want?

What happens when you slow down enough to actually feel?

Sometimes we’ll talk. Sometimes we’ll explore sensation or emotion together. And sometimes I’ll give you a practice to continue exploring in the privacy of your own space.

I don’t know what you’ll discover.

And I don’t need your experience to look anything like mine.

There’s no one right way to feel good in your body.

I’m interested in helping you discover what feels good in yours.

The human behind the work

Hi, I’m Shelby.

I’m a wife, a mom, an intimacy coach and someone who will probably always ask a lot of questions.

I love depth, but I also love being ridiculous.

I love conversations that go somewhere real. Great sex. Laughing hard. Being outside. Feeling things deeply. Pleasure for absolutely no productive reason.

And I’m still figuring things out too.

I still get in my head. I still meet parts of myself I didn’t know were there. I still get curious.

This isn’t a destination I’ve arrived at. It’s a relationship I keep practicing.

And these days, there are moments when I sit inside my own body and think: God, it feels good to be here.
